MUSEUM NOTES: DECEMBER 18,  2018

BROWN BAG LUNCHEON

Last Wednesday, December 12th, the museum had its second brown bag luncheon. Alan Hale was the guest speaker, it was fascinating to learn what sports photography is like behind the scenes. He has some amazing action shots of local athletes, emotions of the crowd, and lots of interesting stories. Much laughter and many tears were shed, as Alan shared very personal experiences.

We had a great crowd in attendance that were fed lunch of Frito Pie and desserts. This Wednesday, December 19th will be the last of the brown bag lunches. Allison Ford will be the speaker for the lunch hour; and will share her experiences of playing college softball.

SMITHONIAN INSTITUTE EXHIBIT
This last brown bag lunch is the ending to a great experience with “Hometown Teams.” We had great crowds for each event, school tours, and visitors in general, wrapping this exhibit up as successful. We feel very fortunate to have been chosen to host this amazing show. A big thank-you to each of you that support this great place we call River Valley Pioneer Museum, we could not do it without you. Plans are already underway for another great year, be sure to stop in for a visit, come to an event, bring your family and friends.

HOLIDAY HOURS
The museum will be closed for the Christmas Holidays beginning Saturday, December 22nd, through January 1st.

Wishing all of you a blessed holiday season.
