Jump Start ART
Prismacolor Nature Scapes
Time: Tuesdays 4:00-5:30 pm
February 2, 9, 16, 23
Recommended Ages: Elementary students ages 6-11
Cost: $50 per student
Class Project: Students will learn the basics of working with Prismacolor pencils to create a realistic wildlife drawing with an exciting three-dimensional twist! During this project, students will learn how to highlight, shadow and blend Prismacolors to create a one-of-a-kind nature drawing.
Concepts:
- General composition rules
- Basic shape drawing
- Foreground and background concepts
- Drawing, blending and shading with Prismacolor pencils
Pastel Portraits
Time: Tuesdays 4:00-5:30 pm
March 2, 9, 23, 30 (take off the week of spring break)
Recommended Ages: Elementary students ages 6-11
Cost: $50 per student
Class: This exciting project introduces students to portrait drawing while encouraging them to use creative and vivid coloring. Each student will work from a photograph to create an expressive and colorful self-portrait.
Concepts:
- Facial proportions
- Feature drawing skills
- Highlights, shadows and shading
- Drawing and blending with chalk pastels
